The first locomotive of our foundation,
M61-010, can be visited free of charge at public events, or other dates by prior agreement. The locomotive often performs freight or material transfer duties all across the country. For longer periods of storage, repair or maintenance, M61-010 is either stabled at the site of G. Tim-Co. Ltd. at the former locomotive shed of Budapest East station, or in the roundhouse of the Railway Historic Park. If you wish to arrange a free visit on other days than announced public events, please contact us to agree on the timing of your visit.
The empty carbody of
M61-002, purchased by our foundation in March 2005, has been trasferred to the locomotive shed at Tapolca in late October 2023. A visit may be arranged, but due to its poor technical state, it is not safe to enter the carbody.
The former demonstrator locomotive,
Di3.623 joined our collection in early 2016. Stripped down to an empty carbody, the locomotive is currently undergoing reconstruction at the former locomotive shed of Budapest East station, at the site of G. Tim-Co. Ltd. The locomotive can be visited upon agreement, preferably on a day when our volunteers are on site working on its restoration (typically on weekends). Please contact us to agree on a feasible date of your visit.
The site of G. Tim-Co. Ltd. can be accessed at the end of Dózsa György út near Budapest Sportarena, entrance to the site is next to the ÖMV gas station. Please read our
safety instructions prior to your visit!
Visitors, especially those arriving at Budapest East Station, are asked not to approach the site crossing the station's tracks. This is forbidden and regarding the heavy railway traffic of the station extremely hazardous!
